GENEROSO POPE FOUNDATION AWARDS $50,000 SCHOLARSHIP TO YONKERS HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR
RYEBROOK, NY – The Generoso Pope Foundation held its Second Annual Anthony J. Pope Memorial Scholarship Dinner at the Hilton Rye Town on Friday, October 5th. While the dinner was initiated last year in support of the Anthony J. Pope Memorial Scholarship Fund, but this was the first year the scholarship was awarded. Nearly five hundred guests attended the fundraiser in support of higher education for underprivileged high school students in Westchester County. The dinner included a charitable silent auction and special performance by freestyle group, The Cover Girls. VALHALLA, NY – The Generoso Pope Foundation was the proud benefactor of the Italian Heritage Celebration Sunday sponsored by Westchester County Parks and the Antonio Meucci Lodge, Order Sons of Italy, White Plains. The festival was appropriately held at the Kensico Dam Plaza, home to the beautifully constructed stone dam built in 1915 by a predominantly Italian labor force. Thousands of Westchester residents flocked to the festival to enjoy Italian specialties such as zeppole, pasta, and ices and peruse the wares of vendors selling jewelry, clothing, and Italian flags...more

Foundation Donates Old-School Clocks For Tuckahoe Appeal
TUCKAHOE – David Anthony Pope hopes the two new clocks in Tuckahoe’s Depot Square will further enhance the village’s beauty and the “small-town, Norman Rockwell-feel” of the downtown area.
Pope is president and CEO of the Generoso Pope Foundation, which donated the money for the clocks. Pope said he was approached by the Tuckahoe Beautification Committee about replacing the four “dial” clocks installed 17 years ago in Tuckahoe’s Depot square and Crestwood business district...more

Hospital Gets $1 Million Dollar Gift
BRONXVILLE – Lawrence Hospital has received a $1 million donation for the renovation of is Department of Emergency Medicine from the Generoso Pope Foundation. David Pope of Bronxville, made the announcement at the hospital’s 90th anniversary celebration at Chelsea Piers in New York on Oct. 15.
According to Pope, it was something the Generoso pope Foundation could do for the community that would really make a difference – enable Lawrence Hospital to provide state-of-the-art health care to meet the constant and critical demand for emergency service... more
